Information the App handles

• On your device: Favorites, Personal Quotes, Quote Collections, app preferences, notification schedules, and widget settings are stored on your device. They are not tied to a Wise Quotes account or synced between devices. Removing the App or its data may erase them.
• When you share a collection: If you choose to create a Collection Share Link, the selected collection and its quotes are sent to our service provider, Supabase, so the link can display the collection. Anyone with the unlisted link can view its contents. The link remains available until you turn sharing off or delete the collection. Other collections are not shared.
• Analytics: We use PostHog to understand and improve App use. It receives an anonymous installation identifier, app/device/session information, and events such as screens viewed, quote interactions, feature use, and preference or library-count summaries. Analytics does not include Personal Quote text, personal author fields, Quote Collection names or descriptions, personal IDs, or Collection Share Links. Analytics may be queued on your device and sent when the App is running and online.
• Curated content and technical requests: The App contacts Supabase to load curated quotes, collections, and author images. Those requests may include standard technical information such as your IP address, which is handled by the service provider.
• Notifications: Quote Notifications are scheduled locally by your device. We do not use a remote push-notification service for them. Your device operating system handles notification delivery.

We do not require an account to use the App. Creating a Collection Share Link may create an anonymous Supabase session to manage that link; it does not ask for your name or email address. The App does not currently show advertisements or sell personal information. It does not request precise location, contacts, or photo-library access as part of its core features.

You can use the App without charge for features offered at no charge. If paid features are offered, Apple or Google will process payments through the store where you downloaded the App. We do not receive your full payment-card details. We may receive purchase and entitlement information, such as whether a subscription or lifetime purchase is active, to provide the features you bought. The store's privacy policy also applies to its payment processing.

If you import quotes from a CSV file, the file is selected through your device's document picker and its contents are imported into device-local storage. The App does not upload the CSV file as part of the import.

How we use and disclose information

We use information to provide the App and collection sharing, maintain and improve the App, understand feature use, protect the service, and comply with law. We share information with service providers that help operate the App, including Supabase for curated content and shared collections and PostHog for analytics. We may disclose information if required by law or needed to protect rights, users, or the service. We do not use analytics for cross-app targeted advertising.

Retention and your choices

Device-local information remains on your device until you delete it or remove the App. You can revoke a Collection Share Link in the App; this stops access through that link. If someone copied or saved shared information while the link was active, revoking the link cannot remove their copy. Analytics and service-provider records are retained according to their operational needs and applicable law; we do not currently offer account-based deletion because the App has no user accounts. You can limit analytics by using a build in which analytics is disabled, and you can manage notification permission in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or object to certain processing. Contact us using the address below and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Children, security, and changes

The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through a shared collection or other App feature, contact us so we can review it.

We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We may update this Policy; we will post the current version with a revised “Last updated” date.
